Wine Fridge Humidity and Condensation: What Is Normal?

What humidity should a wine fridge have?

Most consumer wine refrigerators control temperature rather than maintaining a precise humidity setpoint. Moderate humidity helps prevent exposed corks from drying, but closed bottles are also protected by horizontal storage. Do not assume a display cabinet is humidity-controlled unless the manufacturer publishes a range and explains how it is regulated.

Why is there condensation on the glass door?

Condensation forms when humid room air contacts a surface below its dew point. It is more likely after frequent door opening, during humid weather or when the cabinet is set very cold. Persistent exterior moisture can also indicate a damaged gasket, poor door alignment or inadequate room airflow.
